My Many Colored Days is a Scarf Kit, that includes: My Many Colored Days board book by Dr. Seuss; IDEAS Colors Music CD with short sound/color segments, and music pieces, chosen for mood and movement; 10 beautiful durable 27" square nylon IDEAScarves in 10 colors (purple, royal blue, gray, black, orange, red, kelly green, brown, pink and yellow); Velcro to hang the scarves; and an instructional insert. This kit can be used to reinforce color recognition, reading, identifying and exploring mood, creating movement to match music, starting and stopping (motor control), along with joyful times for children to spend with parents, teachers, caregivers, books, music and movement. Read the book to your child(ren), explore the scarf colors. Say the scarf colors as they are chosen. Move them through space. Make air pathways with them, then walk and turn with the scarves. Read the story again, moving the matching scarf to the music for each page. Switch colors and repeat this activity on many days. Play the complete pieces for longer movement experiences. Play dress up. Hang them on Velcro in a special place, where they can be put away easily and beautifully.
