ARMY MEN - MINIATURE
In the mid 1980's I collected/played with miniature army men. They were only about 1 inch high. You could buy them in boxes of 48/96 (I believe). They covered different era's of soldiers. You could buy revolutionary/WWI/WWII etc. They were made of plastic (fairly cheap $5-10 per box) I have found similar items online, but they are all "collectables" and very expensive ($15+ for 4 figurines). I was wondering if you knew what I was talking about and where I might be able to get my son some of these. (I don't want to worry about him losing a few of them). Thank you. Ryan

These sets include many small pieces specific to their subject. They were well used and we have alot of the pieces but not all. BATTERY OPERATED - PARACHUTE DROP - 1970's
In the late 1970's I owned a mechanical/ battery powered(?) board game. I was wondering if you could shed any light on it? It was big and blue. It had an eye piece that you looked through and a cross on the other end of the mirrored aim part that overlooked the circular board. The big yellow bit would revolve and there was these little yellow plastic parachutes with a little magnet on them. they were suspended by the magnet below the aim thing. You manually moved the aim thing in and out with a little wheel or something until the cross in the eye part aimed on a indentation/well on the revolving board. When it did you pressed the trigger and it released the plastic parachute with the intention of it falling into the desired well

BATTERY OPERATED PUPPY DOGS - EARLY 1990s
There was this line of plush battery operated dogs in 1991 or 1990 I think It was made by Tyco or Tiger Electronics (maybe even Hasbro) These puppy dogs would whimper, cry or bark when you hugged them. There was a Velcro closure on the dog's stomach where you would replace the batteries. I think I might have bought mine from a Lionel Kiddie City when I was a child back in '91 but those stores went bankrupt and closed down. (They were very similar to the "FurReal Friends" that are out today.) There were 3 dogs one was yellow cocker spaniel? One was black and white and the 3rd dog was brown and white (like a basset hound or saint Bernard.) I would say these puppies were about 15"-18" plush, Do you know what this toy line was called?

BOARD GAME - FALLING MARBLES
I used to visit my grandparents\' house and play an interesting game they had that once belonged to my aunt, probably during the early 70s. It had a red plastic board which stood upright, with channels in it, and white "switches" at some of the intersections in these channels. The idea was that you would load a number of white marbles at the top. Then you'd push a lever to send a marble down to the bottom through the channels, and the marble would move the flippers and switches back and forth depending on which way it fell. You'd send a chosen number of marbles (I think between one and three) down in one turn. Then you'd flip a switch and it was the "game's turn, and it would send a certain number down depending on the condition of the board as you'd left it. The idea was to be the one to send the final marble down. The game had a Chinese theme, and was called "Dr. something". For the life of me, I can't find any information on it. Please help!

CONSTRUCTION / DESTRUCTION SET
I recall a "construction" set I had as a boy in the mid- to late 80s, perhaps the very early 90s. Essentially you built up a building out of plastic I-beams, support columns, and foundation "feet," then hung little panels here and there to simulate the walls and windows. Finally, you'd rig the bottom parts up with a pneumatic "thing" (that's where my memory is foggy), and hit a plunger. Thus, you'd blow up the building--that was the whole point of the set. I can recall several different sets, now that I think of it, all around the same theme. One of them might have been a radio tower or something--I can remember red and white transmission towers that you'd place on top. I can't remember the name of this toy, and it's driving me up the wall!

DIVER/FROGMAN/SKIN-DIVER/BOTTLE BLUE AND PLASTIC.
I am searching for a small Diver toy, approx 1-1.5 inches high, made in plastic, colored light blue, manufactured around 1959-1962. Commonly called a: "Skindiver/Frogman/Bottle diver", the Diver was designed to be used in a soda bottle , the ones with the old-fashioned black, rubber twist tops. When the top was twisted the diver would "dive" to the bottom of the bottle, reverse the twist and the Diver would rise to the top and surface. This is not the Kellogg's baking powder toys, nor the modern CARTESIAN DIVERS. The Diver had a small, circular indentation in the back which I feel may have been part of the diving and surfacing process, as it possibly captured air to make an air pocket. There's a suggestion that this Diver may have been part of a promotion by a soda company , dandelion & Burdock, Lemonade etc., although I cannot confirm this. Many, many years and still no luck finding this-I KNOW I didn't imagine it, any data most gratefully received.

DOLL - FREAKY LOOKING
Growing up in the 70's I had a pretty weird looking doll; from memory she was about ~10 inches tall, she had a soft cloth-filled body (the fabric was pinkish red and looked like what I can best describe as old-fashioned mattress fabric) with quite hard plastic legs, arms and head; her eyes could open and close but her most distinguishing feature was that her hair, made of mousy blond nylon stuff and about 2 inches long, stood up on end, all of it! She was like this from day one so I know it wasn't from me overbrushing her hair! I let her go at some point in my teens and now think I'd like to find another, so if anyone knows where I can start looking? Thanks, Louise

DOLL - HORSE LIKE FACE
I am looking for a doll that was similar to a Barbie doll that my sister and I played with as children in the 1980s. The doll looked like a horse in the face, but resembled a human as well. She had a short neck and from what I can remember, looked like a human from the neck down. She was much thicker than a Barbie, and seemed to be quite "stocky". I have no idea what company made her, or what her name is. I've looked on EBay for this doll, and cannot find anyone else who remembers her.

My mother passed on her favorite doll to me when I got married. The doll is a 1961 Kissy Doll by Ideal. The info on the back of her neck reads Copywrite IDEAL TOY CORP K-21-L. She is still in the original box, she is wearing all of the original clothing and shoes. She is not damaged or stained in any way. She also has a stamp on her back that reads- copywrite IDEAL TOY CORP K-22 PAT. PEND. My mom passed away in 2005 still wondering what this beautifully kept doll might be worth. So that is my question. How much is my 1961 Kissy Doll by Ideal in mint condition worth?

DOLL - MAGNETIC PAPER
In the mid 1980's my sister and I got a magnetic paper doll for Christmas. Their body's were made of plastic and they had 2 magnets in them, then they had a sticker which was the picture of the doll that you stuck onto the plastic outline. They were identical except one was blonde and one was brunette. You had to stick a small round metal disc onto their clothes for them to attach to the magnet. I was just wondering if you know what these were called and if you can still buy them anywhere.

I am looking for 2 toys I believe were from mid to late 1970's. 1.) a clear plastic oval shaped toy with blue, black, and white sand in it. You would just turn it different ways to move the sand around. It was great to keep the kids mesmerized. 2.) There was an "art" type toy that was rectangular in shape. It had a plastic yellow frame around it. The center of the board had a black liquid under the protective coating. You used a plastic triangle or "T" shaped piece to move the black liquid around and to "draw" pictures with it and it would show lots of different colors within one drawing. You then took the plastic piece and spread the black liquid around to cover it up. Same principle as an etch a sketch but more manual and with color. I do know if you took off the board on the back, it was just waves of different colors and that is what came through when you moved the black liquid around. The protective covering on the front was some type of vinyl.

INTERACTIVE STORY - CASSETTE PLAYER
During the mid 80's, I had an interactive storybook cassette player. It was white, with a cassette deck on the left, a bookrest on the right, and four buttons (red, green, blue, and yellow) that were located directly below the book. Each story contained a book and a cassette that could be used with the device. The cassette's audio worked along with the book to tell a story, and the reader was presented with choices and questions throughout the story. These questions could be answered by pressing the colored buttons below the book pages. Each button played a different piece of audio from the cassette. Stories I remember using with the toy include: "Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street", "The Amazing Game", and "In Search of the Planet Cobalt". The toy itself was about the size of a lapdesk. My first child was born recently, and I'd love to track one of these down for her to play with when she gets a little older, but I don't know what it was called. Can you help me?

INTERIOR DESIGN /ARCHITECTURE DRAWING SET
I used to have a toy as a kid (mid 80's) - the details are a bit fuzzy, but it was a little plastic drafting board that came with tracing paper and a bunch of interior design elements and shapes on plastic templates. You could design different rooms complete with lighting fixtures, windows, etc. Maybe furniture too. I can't remember much more about it. Basically you could combine all sorts of basic elements and build a whole room from the ground up. I remember it being somewhat advanced for my age at the time (7-10 probably). Can you identify it? Thanks, Joyce

LISTEN AND READ ALONG BOOKS
Between 1978-1984, I remember books that had vinyl discs located on the pages (like mini-records). I then had a small device that could be placed on these disks which would play the page (like a mini-record player with a needle) as if it were a recording. I remember the device was brown and white and had two buttons to press with arrows. Once I listened to and followed along to the recording on one page, I lifted the device, set it in position on the next page continued. I need to know the name of this book/mini-record player series. I've been looking for quite some time to find out a name or at least some information to lead me in the right direction. Thanks.

MAGIC EIGHT BALL ORIGINAL?

It is not perfectly ball-shaped (may have been exposed to heat, I hope not, though), and it's in an orange five-sided cardboard box that looks to be from the forties or fifties. The orange box has a golden bottom with a lip. Patent numbers are US # 2452730 and Canadian # 1948. Can you please tell me how old this Eight Ball is, and what it may be worth, approximately? I had this playset during the mid/late 1960's. I don't have an accurate size (although it seems really BIG in my memory!) Approx 2' x 2'(?) It was heavy cardboard (or wood,) with little plastic legs (maybe 3" high or more.) The town was complete with roads, stop lights, stop signs, plastic houses, gas station, police station, firehouse, and a supermarket with aisles. The people and cars all had magnets under them and were "kid powered" using little wands with magnets. In my memory, it was already assembled & may have folded in half or not folded at all.

MAZE / OBSTACLE COURSE BOARD GAME - MAGNETIC BALL BEARING /MARBLE
During the mid-late 80's I played a game that the object of was to navigate a magnetic marble sized ball bearing through a series of obstacles. Some of these included a series of logs or barrels that the ball had to jump up with a controlled tap of a button. There were a pair of rails that sat flush together and with a slide of a switch; they would make an alligator jaw's like motion which you had to get the ball bearing to roll to the end of without letting it fall between. There was an orange fully enclosed maze in the center which you use more levers to tilt the maze to get the bearing through. There was also a magnetic lever that picked the ball up and dropped it to the next section at one point. The colors of the game were mainly green and orange, some parts were beige. I think you had to get the ball to the end before a bell rang. Can you please find out the name of it for me? Thanks.

OPPOSING MAGNETIC SHIPS
I remember having hours of fun with a sturdy, double faced, standing cardboard game. It had hundreds of tiny circles(in rows, on both sides) to accommodate the ships(which the opponents used to navigate over the 'upright ocean'). Players took turns moving their ships(by calling out grids) until the ship on the opposite side of the ocean popped off in opposition to the "like forces" coming in contact with the magnet on the "destroyer's" vessel; signifying the loss of an opponents battleship. At least I _think_ they were battleships. The noisy battery run battleship games are no where near as much fun as this one was. I think our game got soaked in a basement flood one spring and my Dad threw it out. I'm guessing it was probably mid sixties that my sisters and I got the most use from this great game and I would love to find one for my grandsons. Thanks so much for your help. Bonnie

I thought it was called Swoosh or Swish but that search hasn't turned up anything. What it was two long thin rope that were possibly waxed and had a handle on each end so 4 handles total with a plastic football shaped ball with a hole through it to keep the two ropes together. You needed two kids to play and what you would do is have the ball on one end have the handles together and then quickly open them apart so the ball would travel to the other end and then your partner would do the same. You would try to see how fast you could go. There is a similar toy out there by a company called HeartSong that puts out a catalog it is called the Zipper Splasher but this one has a ball in the center that you soak in water and therefore when it comes to your end you get wet. Can you help me find this toy.

RACE TRACK
In the early to mid 70's I had a Race Track that kind of ran its self, It was a figure 8 style track and had 4 different color cars (they were pretty small about an inch or so), The cars would run into a battery power track like puller that would rise them up about 12" and when they'd hit the top they'd roll down the figure 8 back to the start over climbing spot, Kinda like watching a lava lamp after a while, But we loved it. This was bought at Woolworths and I do believe they had a horse version of it also, I've tried to look for it on EBay, But to punch in Race Track on EBay is a Nightmare to say the least. Any help you can give me would be Great--Thanks Sincerely Schmadly

RAGGEDY ANN DOLL WITH FACE ON BOTH SIDES
I have an old 35" Raggedy Ann doll that I would like info on. She has her face on front and one on back but without eyes in place, just circles where the eyes should be. On the back there's like a red wig cloth where hair was suppose to be sewn to but isn't so you can see the face through it. I thought it was an awake/asleep doll but someone said it wasn't. Just the eyes weren't there. Anyway, she's in good condition for her age since my daughter in law played with her as a child in the early 1960's. She has on a dress and pantaloons but no apron. There are no tags, etc. on her. Can you give me any info on this doll or what she might be worth? Even somewhere I can look to find info. I haven't been able to find anyone that knows. If you need pic's I can send you some. Thanks Much!! Pat

RED RUBBER RABBIT -1960's
I grew up in the 1960s. I had a red rubber rabbit toy that I called "fun-bun". It was about 15" tall or so and its head was attached to its body by a bolt. Its "hair" was brown rubber, its face a light beige with blue eyes and black pupils painted on and it had on a red tuxedo. Its front legs were bent at the elbows as if it were holding a basket with its "hands" and the back legs were semi-crouched. Both front legs were in the same position on either side of the body and the back legs were also bent in the same position. Any idea what it might have been or where I might be able to find one? I had the toy for as long as I can remember. I was born in 1961, so it probably dates either from the early 60s or late 50s. Thanks so much.

STYROFOAM JET
During the mid to late 70's my Grandfather used to buy these Styrofoam fighter jet planes. They where not the thin printed ones but were just white. They are thick like the large ones you can buy most places today, but one piece and I would guess six inches long. They would do loops and all depending on how you threw them. Wondering who made them and if you can still get. Thanks

TOY AIRFIELD
I am trying to find the name of a toy airfield I had in the late 1970's. The airplanes were made of foam rubber and were launched by a rubber band. The airfield would fold and doubled as a carry case. There was also an aircraft carrier model. The planes could also be launched from hand launchers. Does anyone else have any idea what these toy airplanes were called and who made them?

TOY ARMY MEN AND PLAYSETS
I'd like to find information on a type of toy military playset from somewhere between the mid 1950's to the mid 1960's. The soldiers were in positions, but had no guns or equipment on them. All weapons and equipment (came with the set) were added by the child. The men had holes in the center of the base. The vehicles had rubber band powered rocket launchers, tanks that actually fired projectiles, and the jeep had holes in the seats, so the men (with pegs in their bottoms) wouldn't fall out. I saw a similar set which was identified as "MPC's MOBILE ARMORED ATTACK FORCE". I didn't see the rocket launcher in the photo they showed, but this set is very close to what I'm searching info on. If it would help, I grew up in the Seattle, Washington area. That is where I played with these toys. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ken

TOY CAMERA - FISHER PRICE
I am in search of a toy camera I had in the early 80's. I believe it was made by Fisher Price, it was a 'Polaroid camera that you could place the plastic pictures in and fill a sponge with water. You would then 'take' the picture and the plastic photo would spit out the front of the camera and run through the sponge, exposes a pre-set image. I unfortunately do not know the name of the camera and having been searching on eBay without any luck. Any information anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

TOY FARM - ANIMAL NOSES LOCK
My family had a toy farm in the late seventies that had several doors and windows that could be locked and unlocked using the various animals that came with it. For example. I think the rooster's "beak" would open the silo door. We still have the pig, the rooster, the donkey, and a chicken. We do not have the farm and there is no visible brand name on the toys. The animals do resemble the Fisher-Price animals of the seventies, the chicken/rooster in particular. The animals did not have moveable parts, though. Any ideas on the toy maker??? Thanks so much!

TOY HORSE - ENCHANTED HORSES
Around the mid-1980's, my parents bought me small toy horses. They were approximately 5-6 inches high and were of hard, usually shimmery, plastic. I want to say they were called "Enchanted Horses." They came in a bubble-pack, singly, on a cardboard back. Each had an outfit. I clearly remember my favorite was pearly white with purple mane and tail, with an Arabian themed outfit. Years later "Fashion Star Fillies" came out, and they resembled these smaller horses, but were obviously larger and more developed. I have searched high and low on the Net just for a glimpse of this childhood toy, but to no avail. Do you have any knowledge of these, or will these horses forever be a mere faded memory?

In the 1970s, I had a doll accessory that was a stroller which converted into a rocking chair and high chair. It was plastic and pink and white. I don't know what toy company made him. My question to you is.. Do you know who might have made him so that I might be able to get another box for him? And if not do you think he could be worth something, just out of curiosity. I would never sell him, I'll probably end up being buried with him. I have pictures of him that I can send to you if you require them. Thank you- Patty

YO-YO BALL COMMERCIAL
Recently I was using the tag line from the yo-yo ball commercial from the late 80's early 90's, the "Hey man, It's a yo yo ball!" line and found the group of people to whom I was speaking had no idea what I was on about. I spent some time searching vigorously for this commercial in order to prove my sanity, all to no avail. I came across this site and found the product listing, which at the very least proved that I wasn't entirely insane, but if you know of anywhere I can find a copy of the commercial(s) in question I would highly appreciate it.
